Role Description The Landscape Designer, Project Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Wayzata, MN, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for designing custom landscape plans that complement Stonewood’s homes, including outdoor living spaces, plantings, hardscapes, and site features. Day-to-day work includes meeting with clients and architects to understand project goals, creating design concepts and detailed drawings, specifying materials and plant selections, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality execution. The position also involves managing project timelines and budgets, overseeing on-site implementation, conducting site visits to monitor progress, resolving design or construction issues, and ensuring that landscape installations align with Stonewood’s standards. Collaboration with internal project managers, builders, and trades is essential to deliver cohesive, high-quality exterior environments that reflect each client’s vision. Qualifications Landscape design expertise, including site planning, outdoor living space design, plant selection, and hardscape layout. Project management skills covering scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and on-site supervision. Proficiency with design and documentation tools such as CAD or landscape design software, and the ability to read and interpret architectural plans. Strong client-facing skills, including clear communication, active listening, and the ability to present and revise design concepts based on feedback. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, grading, drainage, and local codes or permitting requirements relevant to landscape projects. Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid environment, managing time effectively between office, remote work, and job sites. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with architects, builders, subcontractors, and vendors. Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, landscape design, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience with high-end residential projects and custom home environments is highly beneficial.
